In 2014, I gave birth to my first child. It was a transformative experience, not least because I recognized that we do not live in a society that consistently recognizes and supports the needs of pregnant people and growing families. Every new parent deserves an extra helping hand, compassionate ear, and support person or people during this time of transition. Now as a mother to two, I increasingly appreciate and understand what a unique ride parenting is.
Prior to my work as a doula and IBCLC, I worked in the non-profit sector for many years, followed by private-sector work bringing value to the non-profit community. Today I have the great privilege to work with Hour Children at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Bedford, NY. In my work there I am honored to provide care to the pregnant folks experiencing incarceration, the parents/mothers and babies who live on the nursery unit, and oversee The Doula Program. I have a BA from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and an MA in Women's Studies from Claremont Graduate University.
I am deeply committed to equity and anti-racism, and my services are for all families; if you are concerned you cannot afford doula or lactation services, let’s talk. My pronouns are she/her.
